Mission statement

Affirm, strengthen and support the ministry of the church staff and the ministry of the congregation of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Ministry team members

Our ministry consists of 9 congregational members recommended by the MM chairperson and appointed by church council. Each person is asked to make a 2 year commitment. Committee members are assigned a staff person whom they meet with about 4 times a year. These meetings are arranged to help give personal and confidential support to the Pastors and staff in their ministry work.

Responsibilities

Serve as a personal and confidential support to Pastors and other professional staff. Serve as an open communication channel regarding conditions and attitudes within the congregation. Serve as an agent of reconciliation in times of conflict in the congregation. Provide an annual ministry assessment with recommendations. Provide exit interviews for outgoing Congregational Council members. Provide exit interviews for members leaving the congregation. Provide the congregation with annual opportunity to thank staff through an organized gift collection. Provide other means of support for staff such as annual luncheon and recognition of significant employment anniversaries.

Meetings

We meet as a group 4 times a year. Additional meetings are called if there is an immediate need.
