HEARTSONG Youth Choir to sing at the Closing Worship at North Carolina Synod Assemble on Saturday,  June 7.

HEARTSONG will say goodbye to several Seniors at our June 1st worship at 8:15 am. We have been blessed by their dedication and beautiful singing this season in our worship.

We are very thankful for their vocal leadership throughout the year.

Changes in Leadership

With our Shepherd Children’s Choir as ANN BUFF steps aside after 11 years !

Also, BellSong, our handbell choir will see a shift in that leadership, also, as BYRON TRIMMER moves on to help in other ways.  We are thankful for his leadership these past 6 years! Please thank them for the very fine leadership they have provided these important music ministries for these many years.  They have provided the special love and grace that has helped many grow to appreciate the music that makes faith come alive.

DO YOU HAVE A SECRET TALENT?

We have many opportunities for you!

If you have an interest in either of the position of Director of the Children’s Choir or the Handbell choir please come and talk with Carol Henderson for an interview. The deadline for inquiries is the end of June, so that our programs can be put into place and there will be adequate time for planning and training.

RECORDING of all choirs to be made in the Fall as a part of the 25th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION.

This opportunity will be spread over several Saturdays for recording purposes and will begin in September. The schedule for this will appear in the July Newsletter as logistics are revised.

25th Anniversary Concert

The concert will take place November 22nd and also other very special worship opportunities, as well. We will need instrumentalists and singers from the congregation…so please let us know of your talent so that you can join this part of our celebration. Brass and instrumentalists are needed to learn Setting One of Holy Communion for November 23 worship. We will meet on Mondays or Tuesdays beginning in late September.

CHOIR TOUR: Germany Choir Tour in the Fall of 2009

The choir tour will be in October (proposed dates: 15-25) of 2009.  Dates are subject to change.  We will be partnering this tour with St. Michael Lutheran Church ELCA in Roseville, MN. Music Director, Karen Wilkerson and her choir. The plan is to visit and tour and perform in Leipzig, Wittenburg, Halle, and such places where both Martin Luther and J. S. Bach lived and worked. The length of the trip will be ten (10) days and the cost for airfare, lodging, transportation and tours will be approximately $3,000 per person. The trip will be limited to 84 people (or two buses). Some openings will be available for those who do not sing, after we have our sure numbers of choir folks. Some funding support may become available for those who cannot afford the entire cost. These plans are currently being reviewed and are subject to change.
