Gathering
Members in attendance: Alex Plavocos, (President) Jeff Dozer, (Vice President) Ann Kuhar, Frank DiNunzio (Executive team), Laura Prill, Michele Lee, Adam Buff, Corinne Lee, Pastor Jennifer Hepler, Pastor Noah Hepler, Becky Martin, Leita Lewis, Nancy Herje, Doug Austin, Mike Montgomery, Christina Valente (Treasurer) and Nancy Ballard.

Sharing of the Word
Council has requested a report at the April meeting from personnel committee regarding current questions regarding personnel processes.
2004 Financial report (C. Valente)
No report this month
Motion, Jeff Dozer I move that Christina Valente temporarily assume the role of GSLC bookkeeper at the previous bookkeepers hourly rate as an Independent Contractor. During this period she will relinquish certain financial responsibilities to ensure adequate separation of duties, including the signing of checks.

Burning Platforms Update
Connectedness
Task force has not met recently. Children’s committee has met. Have made plans for different events. Family life also has various events scheduled. Children’s ministry and Family life are coordinating with each other, but at this point no discussion has been had in regard to combining these two. Evangelism is another major ministry team that the task force is looking into. Maybe a “Gap analysis” should be done to determine whether we are missing ways to connect with one another.
At ministry team retreat connectedness task force needs to present the ideas from the council retreat or current ideas to the ministry teams and see how the teams can relate to these.
Communications
Task force has met and members have been emailing back and forth. Met with Rob Cash regarding web page. Trying to work through ownership of actual pages so that one person does not have to input all the information on the pages. We can either do this on our existing web service or get a new one.
Action: In six weeks we will have these new directories and each ministry team will have access on the existing system.
On line calendar: Want to better use the existing ASC ministry scheduler. Are looking at St. Francis as a model for this. This would allow people to request to schedule rooms etc on line.
Core Values Listening Post
Youth feedback was positive. (Adam) Like the scripture reference
Elementary (Michelle) overlap between fellowship and community. Liked the scripture, but maybe streamline the bullets. Maybe needs just a simple therefore statement.
Sunday Schooltime (Pastor Noah/Ann): Need to be a core value statement on scripture.
Soup supper (Doug): response was centered around recent difficult events in the church. Feedback was not positive regarding the health of the community.
Participation: so far there have been about 25 adults 20 youth
The hope will be at the ministry team retreat the council can share information and get feedback from the ministry teams.
In the newsletter there are dedicated pages (4) in the May newsletter: the hope is that council will take this as an opportunity to communicate with the congregation.

Ministry Team Retreat Update
Team leaders were polled before date. Email has gone out to confirm attendance. Laura will follow up at the end of the month to reconfirm attendance.
