"Charitable" Gift Cards
Are you tired of buying useless gift cards for Christmas and want something different? Our Charitable Gift Cards are just the solution. You can purchase these gift cards in any dollar value; however, instead of a merchant benefitting from this gift card, charitable organizations will benefit. The person who receives this gift card will actually be making a donation to one or more of the 8 participating non-profit organizations. Each gift card has a certificate number and a passcode that will allow the recipient to redeem the card by dispersing the funds to the various charitable organizations. These gift cards will be on sale before and after worship services every Sunday in Advent. If you wish to purchase a gift card outside of Sunday services, please e-mail us by clicking here. For more information and a list of participating organizations, click here.
American Red Cross Blood Drive - Thanks!
Many, many thanks to the donors and workers at our recent American Red Cross Blood Drive. Because of you, they obtained 21 units of lifesaving blood. During our lives, most of us know someone who needs blood. That person can only get blood if another person donates it. There is no substitute. Your gift is wonderful!
2011 Member Conversation Results
Starting in early spring 2011 the Giving Team recruited approximately 30 church leaders to interview member households. The primary objective of these interviews was to gain a general understanding of how and why members give of their time, talent, and resources. A secondary objective was to uncover latent ideas or issues which, if addressed, would improve Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. ,
The conversations were very successful, and many times enjoyable. They revealed several ideas which can be incorporated into Church planning. Click here for the report.
Community Donation Centers
A great way for us to be good stewards of those possessions we no longer need is to donate all that is useable to local community agencies. Use the agency list GSLC has assembled as a donation guide. It can help you understand what agencies are willing to receive and how they will distribute what is given. Also, some of these agencies are eager for volunteer help. Please use their contact information to learn more. As we seek to believe, belong and serve, may our donations reflect our desire to be Christ to our neighbor.
