25th Anniversary Giving Status - Oct. 2007
During the first 9 months of 2007, members have contributed $50,692 to our “Thank You Lord” campaign. Total contributions by members to date are $139,173, roughly 56% of our campaign goal of $250,000. Additionally, Habitat for Humanity is currently holding almost $18,000 for Good Shepherd House in the form of matching gifts from local employers. We are grateful for all gifts received.
This month we celebrate the fact that we have achieved our funding goal for WIHN of $7,000. Thank you Lord! As specified in our program goals, money received in excess of a goal for a specific ministry will be used for the highest priority under-funded ministry, which is currently Joy of Discovery Lutheran.
We continue to be blessed by the presence of Vicar Ryan among us. Your 25th Anniversary gifts are funding his ministry with us. We are being blessed by his presence today. In the years ahead other congregations will benefit from Ryan’s internship with us. Thanks be to God!
We encourage those who have pledged and those that have not pledged to continue to contribute to the important ministries that we are supporting through our 25th Anniversary campaign. Following is the detail for member gifts received to date.
We are excited about the ways that God is using and multiplying your 25th Anniversary gifts.
Thank you Lord!

25th Anniversary Matching Gifts
Generous employers in our area are matching gifts given directly to Habitat for our 25th Anniversary campaign. Plans are to start construction for Good Shepherd House in early 2008. Total member gifts to date for Habitat are $21,991 and Habitat is currently holding almost $18,000 in matching gifts for Good Shepherd House. All gifts for Habitat are appreciated and matching gifts go even further. We are aware that the following Triangle companies will match your direct gifts to Habitat: GSK, CISCO, QUALCOMM, CISCO, Credit Suisse, GAP, and Sony Ericcson. As you consider your giving during the next several months, keep Habitat in mind. You should check directly with your HR department to verify their process for gift matching.
Thanks for your support of Good Shepherd House. If you have funding questions please contact me. For building plans, please contact Will Remaklus.

Paul Lester (co-chair)
GSLC 25th Anniversary "Thank You Lord" Campaign Update 2
Good Shepherd’s 25th anniversary will be celebrated in December 2008. In honor of that occasion, we hoped over a three year period, to raise $250,000 for evangelism and outreach, near and far. I am pleased to report that as a congregation you have responded faithfully and generously to our 25th Anniversary “Thank You Lord” campaign. We received pledges from 64 families totaling $252,802. Additionally, we have received $2,360 in non-pledged gifts to date. The total of pledges plus nonpledged gifts is $255,162 and we expect to fully fund all eight of our ministries.
Good Shepherd has been blessed by many generous people. We greatly appreciate those who have chosen to support the campaign with their pledges, gifts and prayers. We encourage those who have pledged and those that have not pledged to start giving now to this three year campaign. All the necessary dedicated accounts have been established along with a method to track individual giving. We are in the process of finding coordinators for each of our 25th anniversary campaign ministries.
We appreciate the efforts of our administrative staff with our many mailings plus the efforts of our webmaster to keep our online materials up to date. We are grateful for the fine talks and/or letters regarding each of our ministry areas. We are thankful for the many individuals who spent time making personal visits and calls regarding the campaign. Special thanks to Joyce Wehrle for the wonderful/lasting banner she made for the campaign and to Peyton Cline for so carefully tabulating/tracking pledges/giving. It has been a pleasure for me to serve on this campaign with such a fine group of committed and faithful people: Rich Mielke (co-chair), Meg Ehm, Amy Meadowcroft, Art Pfefferle, Ray Prill, and Pastor David Sloop.
GSLC 25th Anniversary "Thank You Lord" Campaign Update
As of June 3, we are pleased to report that we have received generous pledges from 53 households totaling over $200,000. To each of those households, know that we are grateful for your support.
While the total dollar amount of pledges is exciting, we are a bit surprised by the participation rate, as evidenced by the low number of pledges. So that we can fully support all eight of our ministries, we are hopeful that another 25 to 50 families will provide pledges totaling $25,000 to $50,000. Please know that EVERY gift amount is needed and will be very much appreciated. If you are hesitant to pledge for the full three year period, please consider a 2006 pledge. For those who have not already pledged, we ask that you prayerfully consider your participation in this outreach campaign celebrating 25 years of ministry. We request that all pledges be deposited in the brown box in the narthex by June 30 as we will conclude the pledge stage of our campaign. Additional pledge forms are available in the narthex or on the church website.
We are anxious to complete the pledge process and move on to the next phase of our 25th Anniversary celebration in which detailed plans for each project can be worked out. We will provide a full reporting of pledges by mid-July. Thank you for your support of this important campaign. (Please address questions to campaign co-chairs Paul Lester at 676-6236 or Rich Mielke at 846-6353.)

25th Anniversary Celebration - "Thank You Lord"
In December 1983 Good Shepherd Lutheran Church organized as a congregation of the then Lutheran Church in America. Local congregations together
with the national church provided the
initial funding to support our ministry.
December 2008 will be our 25th Anniversary. In celebration of this important
milestone our Church Council has authorized a campaign; Thank You, Lord!
—-whereby we can extend the ministry
of Christ's church through outreach and
evangelism. Through above and beyond
pledges we are hoping to raise
$250,000 over the next three years
(approximately $83,000 per year).
During March the congregation had the opportunity to learn about the specific ministries we hope to fund and support. We had the privilege of hearing from the following people during worship.
Preaching on March 5--Pastor Charlene
Limeneh, new Pastor for Joy of Discovery Lutheran Church in Southeast Raleigh (we are hoping to raise
$30,000 for this new church). Summary
Speaking on March 12--Will Remaklus (we are hoping to raise $60,000
to fund a Habitat House and $6,000 to
furnish a Serving Cup Apartment). Audio (mp3)
Speaking on March 19--Ellen Dickson
(we are hoping to raise $29,000 for
PLM Families Together and $7,000
for WIHN Discretionary Fund). Transcript
Speaking on March 26--Peggy Ruopp
(we are hoping to raise $13,000 for
Mission Trips for Mnene Parish and
$10,000 for Mission Trips to Costa
Rica).
Additionally, we received the following letter from former Vicar Mike Hoffman regarding the value of his internship experience at Good Shepherd.
On April 30 there will be an opportunity during worship for you to turn in your pledge card in support of this important campaign.
